Kettering University’s Online Master of Science in Lean Manufacturing emphasizes engineering and practical application of theory and is the only program of its kind. Kettering University Online’s Lean Manufacturing degree was developed in collaboration with General Motors to provide the skills needed to improve quality output, streamline processes and reduce waste. General Motors employees who complete the Capstone course bring the results of this course back to the company to share waste reducation and cost savings ideas. Within a ten year period the program is reported to have saved General Motors over $30M.
The curriculum for the Lean Management program involves 10 courses totaling 40 credit hours including:
- Seven core courses for 28 credits, plus
- Three certificate courses for 12 credits
